Our CMMC
Compliance
Starts Here.
Why Defense Contractors Trust NSOCIT
We have been doing this work for a long time. Our team has supported organizations across the defense industrial base, from first-time self-assessors to companies pursuing full Level 2 C3PAO assessments. We have seen what works and what causes projects to fail, and we have built our process around getting you to certification efficiently. A few things that set us apart:
✅Certified expertise. Our team holds industry-recognized certifications across cybersecurity and compliance disciplines. When we tell you how a control should be implemented, we can back it up.
✅Clear communication at every level. CMMC compliance touches your IT systems, your operations, and your contracts. We communicate clearly with your technical team, your leadership, and your legal or contracts staff.
✅Honest timelines. We will not tell you CMMC is simple when it is not. What we will do is make it manageable by breaking the process into clear phases with realistic milestones.
✅Senior-level involvement throughout. Our clients do not get handed off to a junior associate halfway through the project. The experts who scope your engagement stay involved through implementation and assessment.
What Is CMMC and Why It Matters
Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification, known as CMMC, is a mandatory cybersecurity framework created by the U.S. Department of Defense. Its purpose is to verify that companies in the defense supply chain are actually protecting two specific types of sensitive information: Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Starting in November 2025, CMMC compliance became a contractual condition of award. If your organization handles FCI or CUI and you cannot demonstrate compliance, you cannot win or renew a DoD contract.
The DoD is rolling this out in four phases through 2028. Right now, in Phase 1, Level 1 and Level 2 self-assessments are required for most new contracts and option year renewals. By November 2026, third-party assessments by Certified Third-Party Assessment Organizations (C3PAOs) will be required for contracts involving sensitive CUI. Level 3 requirements begin rolling out in 2027, with government-led assessments conducted by the Defense Industrial Base Cybersecurity Assessment Center (DIBCAC).
Three Levels of CMMC Certification
CMMC Level 1: Foundation
Basic cyber hygiene for organizations handling Federal Contract Information. Covers 17 practices aligned with FAR 52.204-21. Annual self-assessments allowed, no third party required.
CMMC Level 2: Advanced
Full implementation of all 110 NIST SP 800-171 controls for protecting Controlled Unclassified Information. Most defense contractors fall here. Formal C3PAO assessment required for contracts involving sensitive CUI.
CMMC Level 3: Expert
For the most sensitive DoD programs. Adds 24 controls from NIST SP 800-172 on top of Level 2. Requires a government-led DIBCAC assessment and a valid Level 2 certification first.

Advanced AI Cybersecurity
Legacy tools react. Our AI predicts, prevents, and neutralizes (instantly). Traditional antivirus and outdated systems can’t keep pace with today’s AI-powered threats. From zero-day exploits to phishing emails written in flawless English, attackers are evolving fast, and fooling even your sharpest employees. We use AI that hunts emerging threats in real time, closes gaps before they’re exploited, and keeps your business one step ahead. No guesswork. No lag. Just relentless protection.
Real-Time Detection
Our AI doesn’t wait for signatures or updates. It analyzes behavior, context, and anomalies as they unfold, stopping attacks before they take over your network.
Auto-Response
While human analysts investigate, our AI has already quarantined threats, isolated endpoints, & killed malicious processes. All automatically without any intervention.
Adaptive Learning
Trained on billions of endpoints under real-world attack. It learns from every breach attempt, every exploit, and every evasive maneuver. Disrupting attack chains.

How Companies Get Hacked?
Phishing Attacks
Fake emails, texts, or calls that trick employees into clicking malicious links or giving up credentials. Phishing attacks surged by 4,000%, with usage of AI.
Stolen Credentials
Hackers don’t always “break in”, they log in using leaked or reused passwords. 86% of breaches involved stolen or weak credentials that can be avoid with training & policies.
Exposed Remote Access
Open or poorly secured VPNs, RDP ports, or admin panels that act as digital backdoors. Recently 5.5+ billion accounts were breached globally due to vulnerability & bad config.
Vulnerabilities
Hackers exploit outdated systems and apps. Average time to patch critical vulnerabilities is 45 days, but attackers often strike within hours.
Ready to Start Your CMMC Compliance Journey?
The window for proactive CMMC preparation is narrowing. Contractors who wait until a contract requires certification to begin the process are already behind. Assessment backlogs are growing, remediation takes time, and documentation cannot be rushed without creating new problems.
NSOCIT takes on a limited number of new CMMC compliance engagements each quarter. Schedule a free consultation to understand your current compliance posture and what it will take to achieve certification at your target level.
